Answer to the question concerning daawat
Kyrgyzstan’s government plans to start cooperation of imams and other Islamic communities with the security authorities. They already call Muslims to worshipping, morale, and to national patriotism, love for fatherland, and obedience to the government. How should we react to all this? As there are both negative and positive aspects in it.
Allah the Almighty made daawat obligatory (fard) for Muslims. However, it does not mean that Allah needs any of our deeds. He is the All-powerful and Almighty. Daawat is another challenge for us. Allah set out relevant rules for every deed. It covers daawat, too. In other words, the same as namaz for example, daawat should be made in strict accordance with the Shariah laws, as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) showed us during his life of prophecy.
When Quraysh kaafirs came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) with an offer to worship their gods for one year, and worship Allah another year, the Sura Al-Kafirun was sent:
“Say, oh disbelievers! I do not worship what you worship (idols and false gods). Nor are you worshippers of what I worship. Nor will I be a worshipper of what you worship. For you is your religion, and for me is my religion”. Another time, Qurayshis offered him the following: “If you want to get rich through this, then we will collect such all wealth for you so that you will become the richest among us. If you want gain honor with this, then we will make you our lord. If you have appetence, select any Quraysh woman you want and we will marry you with tens of them”. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) said, “Even if you put the Sun in my right hand, and the Moon in my left hand, demanding from me to stop the mission, I will not give up the mission until Allah completes it or until I die”…
Such behavior of our Prophet (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) towards the kufr clearly shows that alliance of Islam and Kufr is impossible, and it should be an example for us when determining the strategy of daawat.
Daawat can be made even under rule of the Kufr, too, but daawat cannot be made in cooperation with the Kufr! In other words, we cannot call to satisfy the Kufr, or to obey the dominance of the Kufr only to get approval from them for free worshipping of Muslims. At the same time, daawat can be made under protection of the Kufr. Shariah envisages it, as well as other aspects of life under rule of the Kufr and about relations with it. The Meccan period of the prophecy of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) is the example and the only way for daawat under conditions of the current life.
Therefore, in order that daawat was pleasing to Allah, it should be conducted in accordance with provisions and ijtihad methods of the prophecy way of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him). Otherwise, we will invent provisions convenient for us and turn the daawat into useless and empty worshipping, as we did with namaz. Allah save us from it!
All the above said concerns Kyrgyzstan, too, as it lives under the Kufr laws, and our attitude to its government should be determined based on it. In other words, we should refuse all attempts to adjust Islam to reality or to the Kufr’s interests and to place Muslims under it! It is the Kufr itself if the life and daawat merge with the Kufr!
