Hizb ut-Tahrir – Pakistan: Reject democracy, restore Khilafah
On the eve of elections which took place in Pakistan on July 25, Hizb ut-Tahrir – Vilayat Pakistan launched large-scale campaign. The main objective of the campaign is a call to abolition of democracy and restoration of Khilafah based on the prophecy. During the campaign, Hizb ut-Tahrir in Pakistan spread leaflets, appealed to nation and put up banners in public places. To refute existing argument that “if not vote for existing government, even if it is bad, then the worse will come instead of it”, the statement of Hizb ut-Tahrir – Pakistan Information Office says, “Regarding the argument that “if not vote for less corruption, then the gate for big corruption will open”, can we say, “in order to prevent big gamblers we need to gamble ourselves”? Or, on the ground of “choosing easier one of two forbidden things”, can we say that we can drink one glass of vodka instead of two glasses? Democracy is a form of government contradicting to what Allah the Almighty sent. Allah prohibited Muslims not only to be governed by it, but also prohibited to believe in it. Allah the Almighty says, أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ يَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّهُمْ آمَنُوا بِمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ يُرِيدُونَ أَنْ يَتَحَاكَمُوا إِلَى الطَّاغُوتِ وَقَدْ أُمِرُوا أَنْ يَكْفُرُوا بِهِ وَيُرِيدُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَنْ يُضِلَّهُمْ ضَلالا بَعِيدًا “Have you not seen those who claim to have believed in what was revealed to you (Quran), [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you? They wish to refer legislation to Taghut, while they were commanded to reject it; and Satan wishes to lead them far astray” (04:60). Voting for those who govern a state upon demand of majority, instead of governing by Quran and Sunnah, is a great sin. Muslims need to select their Khalifah who will govern only by the laws of Allah, regardless of desires and demands of people. Reject democracy and restore Khilafah! Do not vote for democracy because it is a sin!”.
