Russia threatens the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) with 8000 militants
Around 8000 Syrian terrorists endanger the security of the SCO member states, stated army general Sergei Smirnov, first deputy head of Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russian Federation, at the 32th session of Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (RATS SCO). “After defeat of terrorists in Syria, armed militants passed to the northern Afghanistan via Iran and Turkey. Security and intelligence services of the SCO member states identified the above information”, Smirnov said. Most of militants moving in Afghanistan are from former Soviet Union countries including Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan, according to Smirnov. The parties agreed to adopt joint measures to mitigate the “terrorism” threat. Relevant security authorities of SCO member states will exchange information about persons participating in terrorist activities. The border services will be provided information about militants in order to prevent their entering Afghanistan. Also, the parties agreed to identify and cut communication channels of militants via Internet. Smirnov added that over the last four years, SCO’s intelligence service prevented more than 600 terrorist attacks, and eliminated over 500 terrorist training bases. Representatives of eight countries – Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and India participated in the 32th session of RATS SCO.
Unfortunately, the situation in Afghanistan is slowly declining towards Central Asia, according to our analysis. Russia has plans in parallel with the US strategy on Afghanistan and Central Asia. Russia is not disclosing the artificial war in Afghanistan created by the USA> On the contrary, Russia, as with the situation in Syria, decided to cooperate with the United States, defining the role of protector of the US plans in Central Asia. Desire of Russia to cooperate with its rivals and to take adverse position in its own region indicates its depleted state and weakness in the global politics. Russia is not trying to change the processes occurring in its region and to eradicate the influence of its enemies. It is more likely that Russia is only trying to restrain its enemies. It is as if looking for what to do and to become a participant. It is not a position of a superpower!
