Stoltenberg: NATO does not want repeat of “the cold war” with Russia
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated that the North Atlantic alliance does not want another “cold war” despite Russia’s growing confidence. “We must take into account the fact that we have to deal with more confident Russia. At the same time, we do not want repeat of “the cold war” and arms race, but we stand for political dialogue with Moscow, although it is not easy”, the Secretary General told Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten. The Norwegian politician noted that the world becomes more dangerous and hostile, so contacts between Russia and NATO must be increased, especially in military direction. Meanwhile, according to him, the alliance is developing and becoming stronger. Formerly, Stoltenberg noted that the Russian Federation invested significant amounts to its navy, particularly in its submarines, whereas the alliance’s sea battle skills are seriously decreased.
When Stoltenberg talks about political dialogue, he means a dialogue led by the United States, not NATO, as NATO is not a political alliance. It is well known that NATO is actually the USA’s military block. Initially, the block was established to protect the European countries from socialist influence. After collapse of the USSR, the alliance became “protector” of the European Union from mythical threats deliberately invented by the USA. In order to end Russia’s military presence in European countries that were still under socialist influence, the USA first off disintegrated Yugoslavia. By doing this, the US achieved cooling of relations between Russia and European states and forced Europe to feel more need in the USA as well as in NATO. Then, the US brought forward Iran as an Islamic aggressor threatening Europe. All this was organized only to force them to believe that existence of NATO is vital for the region and that Europe always needed it. In fact, NATO is an American military block set forth by Europe against Russia. Russia now is alongside with weak states that cannot threaten the USA. America does not see Russia as an opponent as before. On the contrary, using the opportunity, it tries to hire it as a military servant like NATO. The USA is regularly increasing sanctions against Russia imposed by the EU and inspiring fear of each other, and thus, increasing the feeling of need in the USA. Therefore, NATO started to invite Russia to be its ally. In other words, again, like in Syria, it directly urges Russia to get involved in military operations in Afghanistan or in another region. In addition, it tries to force Russia to cooperate in a number of projects against China that are in the US interests. Russia never had elections in such politically weak condition. The Russian regime never was so alienated from its citizens. Apparently, Putin will agree with all terms of the USA in the context of forthcoming elections. If everything is really agreed, then Putin will win the elections. Otherwise, civil unrests and riots might start in spring, as it happens in Iran because the conditions were never so appropriate. Therefore, military agreements of the Putin regime with the USA will determine the course of events.
